One of the most frequently asked questions to the group Abekejser throughout their career has been: "Aren't you going to do something with a singer at some point?" To that they have always replied, maybe if the right opportunity presents itself. You have to say it did when Abekejser was asked if they wanted to do a project together with the Estonian singer and composer Karmen Rõivassepp.

Not only is she a fantastic virtuoso singer, she is also an excellent arranger and it therefore made good sense to get three brass players from Aarhus Jazz Orchestra involved in the project. The album 'Wonder Who' therefore consists both of new numbers written for the project with Karmen on vocals, but also numbers from Abekejser's repertoire arranged for three horns by Karmen.

Both Abekejser and Karmen are known as some strong live names on the Danish jazz scene and therefore it was obvious to record a number of concerts and release a live album. The album encapsulates the energy and playful approach to music that naturally arises in the meeting between Abekejser and Karmen Rõivassepp.
